Josesito Lopez, former NABF Lightweight Champion, will face Victor Ortiz this coming weekend Saturday June 23, 2012 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California. Josesito Lopez and Victor Ortiz will fight for the vacant World Boxing Council (WBC) Silver Welterweight Championship.
The Lopez vs Ortiz is promoted by Golden Boy Promotions in association with Goossen Tutor Promotions and Thompson Boxing Promotions and sponsored by Corona, DeWalt Tools and AT&T. The Ortiz vs Lopez fight will be televised live via Showtime PPV (9 p.m. ET/PT).
Victor Ortiz has no interest in Andre Berto Victor rematch because of the failed drug test that was administered by VADA. Again the Ortiz vs Berto rematch fell apart because of the failed drug test of Andre Berto. Victor Ortiz was asked if a possible rematch will happen against Berto, Ortiz answered that he has nothing to prove to Berto and he might put Berto again to sleep on the second occasion. But Ortiz would like to have a second crack to the undefeated Floyd Mayweather if given a chance. Victor Ortiz said that he has unfinished business with Floyd Mayweather Jr.
Eventhough Canelo Alverez is waiting, Victor Ortiz said that he won’t overlook the June 23 Ortiz vs Lopez fight. Victor Ortiz will face Joselito Lopez next Saturday June 23, 2012 at LA’s Staple Center in Los Angeles California for the welterweight main event.
In the June 23 fight of Victor Ortiz against Joselito Lopez, if Victor Ortiz wins, he will given a shot to fight Canelo Alvarez at junior middleweight title this September 15. The fight is already signed and it is up to Victo Ortiz to win this June 23 fight or even score a draw.
Victor Ortiz is set to face Josesito Lopez on June 23, 2012 at the Staples Center. they will be fighting for the vacant World Boxing Council Silver welterweight title. Lopez replaces Andre Berto because the later failed in the required tests.
